Amy Lou Adams, full name Amy Lou Adams (born 20 August 1974 in Aviano Italy), American actress. She is renowned for playing naive characters who have a charming appeal and are loved by critics. Adams was born to an U.S. Army officer in Italy and then grew up in Castle Rock Colorado. In the mid-1990s she began performing professionally and dancing with The Boulder Dinner Theatre and the Country Dinner Playhouse in Colorado. Later, she relocated to Minnesota and was a part of Drop Dead Gorgeous, a mock documentary about beauty contests. Her move in Los Angeles after making her debut on the screen as an innocent, but unassuming contestant. She was the wife of actor Tony Curtis from June 1951 until September 1962, and was is the maternal grandmother of Kelly Curtis and Jamie Lee Curtis. Leigh was discovered by the actress Norma Shearer Leigh signed a contract with MGM to start her career as a film actress at the end of her 40s. Over the next decade she was in a variety of famous films, including Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho (1960) as well as Living It Up by Martin and Lewis (a 1953 film).
